Islamic Marriage Contract (Nikaah)

Indeed all praise belongs to Allaah. We praise Him, seek His aid and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allaah from the evil of our own selves and from our evil actions. Whomsoever Allaah guides, none can misguide him and whomsoever Allaah misguides none can guide him. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah, in his Oneness, without any partners and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Allaah says: “O you who believe! Fear Allaah as He should be feared and die not except as Muslim.”

“O mankind! Fear Your Lord, Who created you from a single soul (Adam) and from him created his partner and from them both sent forth many men and women. Fear Allaah from Whom you demand your mutual rights and do not sever the relations of the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is ever a Watcher over you.”

“O you who believe! Fear Allaah and always say a truthful word. He will direct you to do righteous deeds and will forgive you your sins. Whosoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger has indeed attained the highest success.” Indeed the best of speech is the Book of Allah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Prophet Muhammad. Peace and blessings be upon him. The worst of affairs are the newly invented matters, for every newly invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is misguidance and every misguidance is in Hellfire.

I advise the newly married couple to have Taqwa of Allah, and to fear Him in secret and in open. I advise them to obey the Commandments of Allah and to judge by the Shariah of Allah in all affairs.

I pray Allah to bless them both and join between them in love and happiness. We, the undersigned, put our signature to this contract, being of sound mind and without compulsion or duress.

The two witnesses were present in all the marriage proceedings, including the free acceptance of the bride in accordance with the fulfillment of the conditions of marriage in Islam and the absence of any reasons, which may prevent this marriage.
